Dr. Andy L. Chang is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with a subspecialty certification in hand surgery and an Atlanta native dedicated to the comprehensive care of the upper extremity. Serving patients throughout Georgia, Dr. Chang treats the full spectrum of upper extremity conditions — from the clavicle and shoulder down through the elbow, wrist, hand, and fingers — combining technical expertise with a genuine commitment to understanding what each patient needs to get back to their life. Dr. Chang cares for a broad range of conditions including fractures, tendon/ligament and nerve injuries, arthritis, nerve compression, sports-related injuries, and overuse injuries.
Dr. Chang has a particular interest in treating shoulder conditions and performing shoulder arthroscopy, a minimally invasive surgical approach for conditions such as rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, and labral injuries.
Dr. Chang believes that outstanding orthopaedic care is never one-size-fits-all. He takes time to evaluate each patient thoroughly and offers both nonoperative and operative treatment options, pursuing the most effective and least invasive path to recovery first. An Atlanta native, Dr. Chang earned his undergraduate degree at Georgia Tech followed by medical school at the Medical College of Georgia. He moved to New York City to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Mount Sinai Hospital System and his fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at NYU Langone Hospital. He returned home to Atlanta with a commitment to bringing the highest standard of subspecialty orthopaedic care.
In his free time, Dr. Chang enjoys running and spending time with his wife, son, and two dogs.
Dr. Chang welcomes new patients at his Atlanta and Marietta locations and is available for both elective and urgent consultations.
