Samuel H. Payne III, MD is a fellowship-trained Hand Surgeon and Plastic Surgeon at Georgia Hand, Shoulder, Elbow in Atlanta and Marietta, GA. He welcomes patients with upper extremity conditions as well as those in need of plastic surgical reconstruction throughout the body. Dr. Payne specializes in both nonoperative and operative treatments of the hand, wrist, and elbow. He treats the full spectrum of upper extremity ailments including ligament and tendon injury, fractures, vascular conditions, and many more.
Dr. Payne has a particular interest in the treatment of nerve problems, ranging from common conditions like carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome to peripheral nerve injuries, brachial plexus pathology, and even notoriously challenging conditions such as complex regional pain syndrome and neuroma pain. Dr. Payne’s specialized training at the Limb Restoration Clinic in Philadelphia, PA equipped him with the tools necessary to treat these challenging upper-extremity problems.
Dr. Payne is also a consulting plastic and hand surgeon at The Shepherd Center, a world-renowned hospital and rehabilitation center for people with brain and spinal cord injuries. Dr. Payne’s unique training in both plastic and hand surgery allows him to help these patients in numerous ways, from reconstruction of difficult wounds to limb-optimizing surgeries for those with spinal cord injury, stroke, brachial plexus injury, and traumatic brain injury.
